MUSICAL THEATRE EXPERIENCE
Students take center stage this summer.
Watch your wallflower blossom in our creative arts training camp. Students, age 7 to 16, learn to act, sing and dance in Hawaii’s best summer theatre camp featuring guest artists. Productions foster team work, build confidence and cultivate imagination. The performing arts experience culminates in a performance on Diamond Head Theatre’s stage on July 25th and 26th. MUSICAL THEATRE EXPERIENCE I
This seven-week, half-day summer program that runs from June 9 to July 25th is for students of all levels and requires no previous acting, singing or dance experience. Children are introduced to the wonders of the performing arts in a safe fun-filled environment.
Two Options: June 9 – July 25th
MTE AM FOR AGES 7 to 11: (8 am to Noon) | Cost: $1,495
Student performance will be held on stage at Diamond Head Theatre on July 26th
MTE PM FOR AGES 12 to 16: (1:30 to 4:30pm) | Cost: $1,275
Student performance will be held on stage at Diamond Head Theatre on July 25th
MUSICAL THEATRE EXPERIENCE 2
MTE II is a 2-week intensive program for students ages 8-16 who would like to gain further knowledge of musical theatre and refine their talents. This all-day intensive encourages the students to further their theatrical skills. Previous performance experience is required.
One Option: July 28 – August (8:30am-4:30pm)
Student performance will be held on stage at Diamond Head Theatre on August 9.

Program Choreographer:
Alexandria Zinov
Alexandria Zinov is an accomplished dance educator, choreographer, and performer with extensive experience teaching at schools, studios, and theaters across Utah and Hawaii. Some of her choreography credits include Chicago, Spring Awakening, The Addams Family, Alice in Wonderland Jr., and Frozen Jr.
A seasoned performer, she has appeared in numerous productions at Diamond Head Theatre, Mānoa Valley Theatre, and in Utah. She is a graduate of Salt Lake School for the Performing Arts and holds a bachelor’s degree in Dance Education. Her professional career includes four years as a professional dancer for the NBA’s Utah Jazz, where she also served as captain and choreographer.
Currently, Alexandria is dedicated to mentoring the next generation of performers as a dance instructor at Mo’oelo Studios and as the founder and coach of Team Elevate, a dance company focused on developing versatile, well-rounded dancers. Passionate about inspiring others to pursue their dreams with dedication and enthusiasm, she is thrilled to be part of this year’s summer musical theatre program!

Program Director:
David Sheftell
David Sheftell is a professional actor and educator with an extensive career spanning theatre, film, television, voice-over, and video games. Most recently seen on stage at Diamond Head Theatre as Phil Davis in “White Christmas, David brings years of performance experience to his role as Director for the Musical Theatre Experience (MTE) program.
He has previously taught as part of both the MTE Program and the Shooting Stars Program at Diamond Head Theatre, sharing his passion for musical theatre with young performers.
David is absolutely thrilled to lead the MTE program, fostering a creative and supportive environment where students can develop their talents, build confidence, and experience the magic of musical theatre. He is excited to continue inspiring young performers and helping them grow both on and off the stage!
Scholarships
Student Directors, or Interns, serve as assistants and helpers to the MTE Instructors. Diamond Head Theatre seeks enthusiastic leaders, who are passionate about theatre and work calmly and positively under pressure. Must be at least 13 years old, and previous theatre and other leadership experience is a plus. The position is unpaid.

Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of 1 year of MTE Teens (PM) or MTE II or other relevant experience such as another arts/theatre program
- At least 13 years-old
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Experience in working with kids, ages 7 through 12
- Must be high energy and enthusiastic
