The Broadway version of A Christmas Carol is a spectacular adaptation of Charles Dickens's well known story, as evidenced by its decade long run at Madison Square Garden. Broadway heavy hitters Alan Menken (Disney's Beauty and The Beast) and Lynn Ahrens (Ragtime, Seussical) breathe fantastic new life into the classic tale.
Ebenezer Scrooge is a prosperous curmudgeon who believes personal wealth is far more valuable than the happiness and comfort of others. With an infuriated "Bah! Humbug!" as he goes around town, Scrooge sums up his feelings of Christmas tidings. His life changes when three ghosts visit on Christmas Eve, leading him through his Past, Present, & Future. Thanks to their guidance, Scrooge recognizes his selfish ways and reconnects with those that mean the most to him.
